OCR Level 2. Cambridge technical Diploma in Health and Social Care.

Health and social care sectors will experience huge growth over the next few years. Cambridge Technical at Level 2 will give you a broad and in-depth foundation for either the modern workplace or further studies.

You will be completing 8 units over the course of this year where you will be expected to organise your independent study time well, to enable you to hand in assignments on the specific dates you will be given by each tutor.

You will be expected to complete the placement hours required by the awarding body.

The OCR Level 3 Cambridge Technical Subsidiary Diploma and OCR Cambridge Technical Extended Diploma in health and social care are designed as a foundation for careers in Health and Social Care settings e.g. nursing, midwifery, social work, medicine, professionals allied to health (e.g. counselling, paramedic, radiotherapy etc.) and are therefore seen as a good preparation for Higher Education. The NHS is one of the biggest employers in England and most of our learners do progress onto careers within this sector.

• To provide students with an academic and vocational foundation in health and social care in the form of a one year Subsidiary Diploma, with the opportunity to progress to the one year Extended Diploma.
• To encourage personal development.
• To equip students with knowledge, skills and the competence to work in a variety of care settings.

To enable students to progress to higher education and / or vocational health and social care work settings.
